Working in GSC IT

I have been working for CEMEX since 2006 switching from the good old teaching profession. Ending up in the field of IT support surprised me just as much as my friends, and it has turned out to be great fun. For me, it is essential that my job should not be boring, I can learn new things day by day, and that I continuously face challenges. In the GSC IT Team, I found not only all of these, but also a great team spirit and an environment that is both versatile and stable at the same times.

Working in GSC Applications

?SAP support is provided by the Commercial and Back Office team where teamwork is a dream work. We are working from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 7pm, so we spend quite some time together, which is very joyful and interesting.
In our team, you can find kind and young people who give excellent SAP support in 4 different languages (English, German, French and Polish), and who are in touch with foreign people every day. We have very good relationship with the colleagues from the other supports teams, with whom we try to sort the problems out, so our knowledge is developing day by day, step by step.

Working in Treasury

In the Treasury Department, each Team Member (currently 5 TMs) is responsible for treasury operations in one or more countries, but as a whole team, we provide services together at high level and with accuracy according to our Service Level Agreements signed with our customers.

Our biggest challenge is to respond to all customers? requests, react as soon as possible, coordinate, solve pending issues and respect daily deadlines of payment processes in the related banks. As a small department, we need to act as a real team as sometimes we have to support and help each other in case of unbalanced workload.
Furthermore, we have the opportunity to be involved in the CEMEX Way Treasury implementation in each related country by spending some time focusing on learning of the new processes locally and integrate them into our daily operations in SSC Budapest. Our team is open for changes and for new processes to be integrated to the SSC with the purpose of acquiring more and more experiences regarding Treasury operations.

Working in HR Services

"I joined the HR Services Team before our go-live March 1 in 2006, so I had the opportunity to be there when we took our first steps as well as participate in the continuous evolution of our department. It has been an honor and pleasure working in such a lively, colorful community of talented people, where good atmosphere is a value that we all appreciate.

Diversity is a key feature of our people and our business, and this quickly changing environment provides excellent chances of growth and development including international assignments and new positions. Since December 2006, I have been acquiring precious knowledge and experience as Team Leader in Integration, being a link between our operations in Budapest and the team that is implementing the HR Services model worldwide. We have successfully integrated our model in Germany and the UK, and this year our support scope will be extended with France and Poland.

Working in Payroll

?I was the first member of the payroll team with the Payroll Manager joining in 2005 November.

I have seen the team starting and growing. It was interesting to see the group dynamics, how every new member adapted him/her to the team. Our first year was mostly dedicated to the German project and had the successful go-live in October.

2007 was very challenging and productive; and despite all the difficulties, we successfully implemented payroll services for 3 countries and started 2 new projects in the first half of the year that are continuousing in 2008, as well.

Our department is lucky to travel so much and it comes with the advantage to get to know each other better, become friends and establish very good (not only!) working relationships within the team as well as with our clients and other important stakeholders.

The success of our department is a result of all the extraordinary efforts my team is continuously performing and their positive attitude.

I am looking forward to the second half of the year when we are going to focus on stabilizing our operations and apply the best practices to our ongoing projects.?

Working in Accounts Payable

?I started working for CEMEX from the very beginning and I feel lucky that I picked CEMEX for my first workplace. I started to work as a cost analyst, which was related to my faculty in finance and accounting.

I like being a part of the accounting process within CEMEX. I have met so many great co-workers that I feel like I am in a family. We are providing services for more and more European countries now. This means participating in the implementation of services in different countries (according to CEMEX Way). Besides doing our daily work, we also have to keep in touch with foreign controllers and this gives us a good chance to meet different people and cultures.

My job is turning out to be more interesting and challenging as the CSSC grows. We started with 6 people in the Cost team and after 2,5 years more than 70 people are working in the department.
I have gained lots of experience and made some great friends.?
