History of CEMEX SSC Budapest
The CEMEX Shared Services Center (CSSC) established operations in Budapest, Hungary in November 2005 and provides Transactional Services, IT Support, Treasury, Payroll and HR Services to over 18 countries within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) & Asia region. Our current core clients are UK, Germany and France.
Shared Service Center at Budapest has became key component of the Cemex Shared Services (CSS) model defined during 2009.
What does Cemex Shared Services (CSS) model mean?
The CEMEX SSC is an integral part of a wider corporate strategy. CEMEX Way is our global business model with standardized processes and systems on a common IT platform. It has been implemented throughout the majorities of the countries in which CEMEX operate. This model creates a common CEMEX language in both our technologies and in the way we go about our daily business which reinforces our common corporate culture in the new CEMEX countries.
During 2009 CEMEX has decided to implement a Shared Services model throughout its operations which is strategic for the future of CEMEX. The CSS model is a cross-country service delivery model having two Regional CSS (at Budapest and Monterrey) and local CSS within the countries to provide shared, common end-to-end services.
This CSS model ? with leaner organizational structure - is providing all transactional and certain expertise-based services. Currently we are working on enlarging service portfolio, involving new countries, creating value, removing non-value added activities, being more efficient.
What are the benefits of the CSS Model to CEMEX?
- Achieve economies of scale: cost savings in personnel
- Improve quality of service to internal customers (i.e. local business units) and external customers
- Manage costs more effectively
What services do we provide to our customers?
We know all of this would not be possible without our skilled staff. At the design phase, this was the primary reason for selecting Budapest over a number of other European cities.
In addition to offering high-quality technology, effective infrastructure, and a stable economy, Budapest was also chosen because it has a well-educated, talented, and multi-lingual work base.
We dedicate a considerable amount of time and resources to attract and retain the right people. We are constantly looking for employees who will make our company better and maintain our leading position in the global building materials industry.
